Fanjin learned from the Internet: after 16 years, Italian beef is finally expected to return to the Chinese table. After the eighth joint meeting of the Chinese Italian government committee, the Chinese government issued a statement to lift the 16-year Italian beef import ban.

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Italian foreign minister Alfano, who is on an official visit to China, to attend the closing ceremony of the eighth joint meeting of the Chinese Italian government committee, the Italian Republic newspaper reported. After the meeting, China's Ministry of agriculture and AQSIQ released a statement to lift the ban on the boneless beef of Italian cattle under 30 months old. However, both sides still need to work out a protocol on inspection and quarantine requirements for beef.

In addition, China's Ministry of agriculture and AQSIQ also announced the lifting of the Italian ban on semen smarenberg disease in 2012.

In September this year, a Chinese delegation of experts concluded its visit to Italy and tested the health and safety of Italy's production system. It can be said that the lifting of the ban is the result of the joint cooperation between the Italian Ministry of health and the Italian Embassy in China.
